The Center for Economic Progress is a national leader in providing free tax preparation and financial services to low-income working families and individuals.
Volunteers are the heart and soul of the Center for Economic Progress. Every year more than one thousand people contribute their time and expertise to the Tax Counseling Project, a signature outreach program of the Center for Economic Progress. Last year alone, more than 1,100 volunteers provided service directly impacting over 30,000 individuals and families.
The Project continues to demonstrate the impressive financial impact of its services. More than 150,000 families have benefited from the Project’s services, building financial security and moving toward economic prosperity. The Project’s fast, free, electronic preparation of tax returns and the option of directly depositing their refund are putting more money into families’ pockets faster than ever before.
